​The Mitchell Fund Committee is happy to announce the two organizations chosen to receive the College Club of Hartford Mitchell Fund donations this year:

The BOTS Center for Creative Learning at Charter Oak Cultural Center
The BOTS Center for Creative Learning provides a completely free education for those experiencing homelessness. They provide three semesters a year, offering mostly arts-based classes.  To date, 68 students have graduated from the BOTS Center. Out of those, 36 students have gone on to attend Goodwin University on a full scholarship. These scholarships were earned as a direct result of the students attending BOTS classes and successfully completing the required credits through the program.
 
Aurora: Women and Girls Foundation
The Aurora Women and Girls Foundation galvanizes resources to increase economic security, educational attainment, and leadership for women and girls in the Greater Hartford region. Aurora Foundation has asked that our gift be unrestricted so that they can best use it to support their mission. You may have heard about this organization from fellow CCH members who volunteer for the foundation.  Please visit www.aurorafoundation.org if you would like to learn more.
These organizations were chosen based on nominations from the membership at our Fall luncheon and research of the nominated organizations by the committee.  The focus on support of women and girls in the community by these two organizations, as well as their successful track record, were leading factors in their selection. 
Donations to the Mitchell Fund are accepted at any time, but we encourage you to donate now, so that we can reach our $6,000 goal by the end of May.   Donations may be made online (www.collegeclubofhartford.org/online-payments.html) or by mailing a check to:

100% of the amount collected will be split between the two organizations and mailed to them in June.  We are hoping for participation by all members as we represent our club motto: Forward-thinking women making social, educational and philanthropic impact in Greater Hartford since 1905
