Annually, the College Club of Hartford’s Mitchell Fund Committee identifies one or more beneficiaries to highlight and support philanthropically through Member donations.  Come join us for refreshments and to learn more about and hear directly from this year's recipients:

• Trinity College IDP Adult Learning Program
• Hartford Neighborhood Center Preschool

Dr. Barbara M. Benedict will be our guest speaker. Barbara holds an endowed College Chair as the Charles A. Dana Professor of English at Trinity College. Barbara, who was raised in Mauritius, London, the Seychelles, and Berkeley, earned her B.A. cum laude in British History and Literature from Harvard University, and her MA and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. Barbara has published many books and is one of the world's pre-eminent Jane Austen scholars.
We hope to follow up her presentation with a group visit to Playhouse on Park to see The Complete Works of Jane Austen (Abridged) in October.
